Note 7 status update please

I have a Note 4. I was just about the purchase the Note 7 when all the recalls came out.
I really need to upgrade from my Note 4 but I don't want to get the Galaxy phone.
Does anyone know the status of the Note 7?
Or are they coming out with a Note 8 instead, if so, does anyone know when?

Are you still happy with it, does it still do what you need in a smart-phone, are you one of these persons that must have the latest and greatest shiny things, do you have a lot of money burning a hole in your pocket?

I thought the whole world knew the status of the Note7. Well yeh the recalls came out, and now you can't buy one.

Or are they coming out with a Note 8 instead, if so, does anyone know when?

Sometimes early next year probably, maybe around March time, keep an eye on the forums and tech news, etc.

My guess would be the note 8 won't be coming out until August/September 2017

I have a Note 4 as well, and am anxiously awaiting the new Note.

The S8 is expected sometime in April, and the Note 8 around August/September. That's subject to change, however: there's talk out there of a Galaxy S8 Plus - with S-pen, that will be launched with the S8. It is rumored to have a staggering 6.2" edge-to-edge 4K screen, which will be perfect for VR applications.

The reason I asked was because I shattered the bottom part of my screen on my Note 4 and I have been dealing with it now for about 6 months or more in hopes of a new Note. I was just about the get the Notes 7 when they started having all the problems. I was just wondering how much longer I had to wait.

Awhile, sadly. I returned my Note 7 not once, but TWICE

I hope that the rumors about the Note being moved up to April as an S8 Plus are true... this Note 4 isn't as snappy as my previous Note 4. I can't explain it, but I think it's a couple of clowns short of a full circus...
