Have you found an awesome accessory for the Note9? Post it here for everyone to consider!

I love this case: it's silicone but it looks like stitched leather... what a great retro throwback to the Note 3!

EDIT: It's interesting, but I contacted the seller to make sure that the case would not interfere with wireless charging. The seller advised to remove the case for wireless charging! For SILICONE? Oh, well, that's off my list...

I couldn't decide between the blue trim and the gold trim... but at that price, I ordered both!

Wow, what a great presentation! I really didn't have a lot of confidence that the Note9 would be a significant upgrade... but today put my concerns to rest! Between the Bluetooth S Pen, the 4000 mAh battery, the contextual conversation of Bixby and all the other cool accouterments, I'm SUPER STOKED!

Looks like Alexa has a formidable competitor! While SmartThings is a skill for Alexa, the SmartThings Hub is built in to Bixby Home. With the myriad of partnered services to make our lives easier and more productive, I'm excited to see how it will all come together!

What are your thoughts on the Unpacked Event?

I thought it was great. Really impressed and excited about the Note 9 and I look forward to reading/watching everybody's review in the coming weeks. Personally for me, I am glad the Galaxy Watch is still running Tizen. I am hoping some of those updates make their way down to my 4 month old Gear S3 Frontier watch.
 
I thought it was decent, but seems like it kinda bombed out again like last year. Seems like when the Note7 came out, the audience was very electrifying. Last year and this year, they barely knew when they should clap or cheer, and even that all seemed minimal. Each presenter had awkward looks on their faces while awaiting audience reactions. Kinda pissed they didn't talk about price, or preorders (unless I somehow missed that) and apparently only the blue and purple versions are available in the US at this time. Didn't say that either. What a bummer. Guess I'll get stuck with the blue and yellow o_O
 
Those pregnant pauses were painful to watch! They write pauses in the script in the places they expect applause - and the audience didn't get the memo. I checked the Shop Samsung app (which started taking reservations last week) but so far, nothing on price or availability of any of the new devices.

I have no experience with Tizen, other than bad reviews from the tech world. I may be inclined to try it...

I have the gear S2 and S3 watches. Tizen is not great, but it's really not bad either. I just wish there were more apps available. But I do love the watches and love the ability to make my own watch faces. I am going to skip the new watch as it doesn't have MST (Magnetic secure transmission). This is a key feature that Sammy has used on it's devices to get Samsung Pay to work virtually everywhere. Without that, you have to rely on newer visa machines that support NFC. The S2 and S3 both have MST, and it works beautifully. I wear my S3 95% of the time, and occasionally switch back to the S2 for more a more formal classy look.
 
Shop Samsung just notified me that I can pre-order the Note9 RIGHT NOW and get a jump on the crowd! That's great - if I can pre-order it in black! I'll let you know in a little bit...

EDIT: Nope. Blue or lavender.

I logged in to the Samsung website and sent them a delightful email, to the effect that I don't know what focus group told them that pre-order sales would not be affected by the Note9's limited color availability (especially the ludicrous exclusion of BLACK), but they were dead wrong. I let them know that they can contact me when Midnight Black is available in the United States.

I think US color choices for the Note 9 will remain Ocean Blue and Lavender Purple for a while. The phone colors aren't a deal breaker for me because my phone will be in a black case -- it's the S Pen that concerns me. I don't like the yellow S Pen but I think I could live with the purple S Pen.
 
I have ALWAYS had a black phone, ever since the Motorola Droid*. The only exception to that was Maxine, my Moto X Pure Edition with the wood back. GORGEOUS phone... once I get the Note9 in the color I want, and not the color Samsung wants me to want, I'll be selling her and Jeanette the Note8 will go into semi-retirement as my emergency reserve phone.

*- Once I get the Note9, I intend to post a side-by-side comparison video of the Note9 with the OG Motorola Droid. I haven't turned her on in a long time... but as I recall, she's still on Android 2.2 Froyo and overclocked to 1100 MHz. The size difference alone is enough to leave me wondering how I ever got anything accomplished on such a small screen!
 
That's funny that you say these things. I was just bitching to my wife last night about the same thing... Every Droid phone I've ever owned has been black! I am not a case guy, but I might explore options. I'm not so concerned about the ocean blue, but that #$%$'ing yellow pen. Why...??? Contrast? Maybe so, but come on, that's just hideous. (at least on seen images) will see what it actually looks like in real life.

Anyway, I too have my original Moto Droid, and a Droid Maxx at home. All my other phones have been handed down to co-workers over the years, so I don't have a collection going on. Kept the firs one for nostalgic reasons, and was able to get the Maxx back after a couple years. I use this a few times a week when I can't sleep to play a couple old school games that do not work on current versions of android.

The promise of two great companies, coming together and birthing the starchild phone of the future... which, while the subject of the longest and most epic thread in Android Forums history, became the stepchild that neither company wanted to be responsible for:

I've had 3 Moto's, OG droid, Bionic, and Maxx. After that, went to Note3, and went all the way down the note line. Never looked back

Got that notification too, but the Shop App puked and closed on me. Got an email today to get it on order!

Now, if Samsung will sell me a Note9 to put in them, in MY color choice, I'll be a happy Chief...


EDIT: Just for spits and giggles, I decided to test fit a Note9 case with my Note8.

PERFECT FIT!

The button placement is a little off, as is (of course) the fingerprint scanner. But the dimensions of the phone are identical!

After seeing how slick the gold trim is, it dawned on me that the Ocean Blue Note9 would look pretty freaking good in it. So I pre-ordered that, and the Galaxy Watch, and the dual wireless charger for both of them. Should be here in about 10 days!

Has anyone here read anything about the mythical 512 GB microSD card?

I haven't seen any information on when to expect the 512 GB microSD card to be available... that's a whole lot of storage on that one tiny chip...
 
I'm not sure where he got his information, but a senior member posted on an XDA Forum that Samsung is not offering a black Note 9 in the US because the black S9/S9+ did not sell well.
 
And Samsung seriously blames it on the COLOR???

How about "the S9 was an incremental update to the S8, but not enough of one to compel a lot of people to buy it"?

So, how many people are lining up to buy a blue or purple Note9? I suppose they can't keep up with all the pre-orders...

How far out are the buttons?
I was thinking of holding on to my Samsung rugged case for now when the Note 8 goes and I really haven't found another case that I'm Happy with just yet.
 
Well, there's Lavender...

I'll let you know how the blue and yellow look together when I get her Wednesday. I'm sure it's not that horrific, unless Samsung’s focus groups ganged up on them and lied about it. I'll post pictures and we'll see.
