Is there a notes app (preferably from google itself) that will sync directly between an android phone and the google account? I do *not* use outlook. I am looking for an app that works offline amd allows editing the notes from the google account too.

I use the HTC Sensation 4G phone. I heard that google docs does not sync and is a heavy-duty application. I was told that apps like Evernote do sync but cannot be used offline. I am looking for plain text notes, nothing fancy (similar to the standard notepad program offered by Microsoft).
