Help Noticeable lag

I know there's plenty of threads about contacts and phone applications' lag on S3, but I am a bit confused about one thing; I performed a factory reset, and then I restored a previous back up with Kies... Same lag after the restore, so the question is, is my previous problem still present because I used the back up, hence the return of the lag?

I am on JB, international version, stock.

I installed it, and there is no process in particular that's eating up my CPU, all processes were at 0%, except for OS Monitor sitting at 4%.

I think you might be dealing with some home button lag. Go to S Voice>settings>disable home button double tap. That should take some of the lag away when you press the home button to return to your home screen.

Question still remains... If I perform a factory reset, should I restore my phone's settings and apps manually and not use the backup file for not getting the same issue as before the reset?

If you reset does it lag before you restore? I would assume no. So don't restore. Install each app and check lag between installs until you figure out what app is causing the lag.

I get a delay of a second or two when i click contacts icon, i think its normal. when you have lots of contacts.

there is known issue with lag for opening contacts and
messaging. think os just kills them off maybe

I seem to remember reading that the phone syncs with Google contacts every time you open contacts. Maybe try turning off contacts sync and see if that makes it faster? Just a guess...

Just slightly faster by turning off contacts syncing... But still laggy... Guess I will have to get used to it....

As a matter of fact, there are times when accessing contacts is blazingly fast, but there are times when it takes 5+ seconds to load up a merely 70 contacts list. I even disabled Google contacts syncing, but it doesn't seem to make much difference, I am pretty puzzled here...

A similar delay happened me after I added 25 additional photos to my contacts. I'm on AT&T in the US. There were three or four instances of a 10 second wait for my contacts to load, then it's been back to normal.

I also got a popup message I had never seen before from AT&T telling me about the AT&T Contacts service out of the blue, without my phone having received an update. This is also after I added the photos. I had had about 10 photos previously without any delay or popup. After two popups, I haven't gotten another.

I think it's the lag is because of the 1 gig of ram because with jellybean and touchwiz uses a lot of memory

What do you mean by lag? Takes a bit of time to open? In that case it's normal. Unfortunately, Samsung's Dialpad and Contacts application aren't always kept in memory, so each time you open them, Android has to load them up again. You'll understand what I mean if, instead of closing the Contacts app, you were to press home button. In that case, re-opening the Contacts app would be very fast.
