notifcation problems

Hi
Loving my new s3 but can anyone tell me why I don't get an sms notification if the sms stock app is open ? This also happens if a conversation is open while I'm waiting for a reply.
Notificatios work fine when app is closed and all sound and notification settings are on
Any ideas as this is so annoying when you are waiting for a reply, or if you forget to close the app!

Don't think that's meant to happen. You may be better off Factory Resetting the phone and see if that helps...

I assume your notifications are all turned on and active.

thanks for that - all notifications are on etc but will do the reset and hope it sorts it.
