Notification App with Custom SMS Features for Contacts

I'm trying to find a way to mute the Vibrate & Notification Tone of certain contacts. I have a few SMS Alerts I sign up for. They send messages from the same number. Therefore the number that it's sent from, I've added it as a contact. I'm trying to find a way to mute the vibrate and sound for that particular contact. That way I can still get messages, but not have to deal with my phone going off all day. I was able to do this on my BlackBerry, but have yet to find a way to do it on Android. I installed GO SMS. There's a way to set custom notifications for a particular contact in GO SMS. I set the vibrate and sound notification for that particular contact to off. It seem like the perfect solution, but it works sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't. There are times when it would mute the sound for that contact perfectly, then there are times when it lets all sounds through. I'm hoping maybe I can come across another app that can accomplish the same task on a more consistent basis.
Any ideas?

You could try Tasker.

But personally, I'd wait for Go SMS to update their apps. It'll hopefully fix that issue.

I use handcent sms, you can set notifications per contact.
So you can set it to not alert you at all for a contact.
