Hi guys,I have handcent app for text messaging but I keep getting a notice in my lock screen saying I have a message even when I have read it through the handcent app.I have turned off all the notifications in the standard text message app but it keeps happening and is very annoying. Does anyone know how to stop this please?ThanksNat

basically every time I get a new message it tells me I have an unread message even though I have read it through the handcent app.
The only way to get rid of it is to go into the standard app and read it, then it goes away but does it again everytime I get a new nessage. Very fristrating.
As I say I have turned off the notifications in the standard app.

Maybe it's not the notifications settings you need to look at? Maybe it's something in the lock screen settings? Is there a "Turn off Notifications" option somewhere?

I did think of that but cant find any options for the lock screen. Anyone else know how to do this?

Unfortunately I had the issue with my phone (arc and also with a neo), I was using the GO sms Pro and every time I got a sms even though I had opened it with that app it would still say that I had New message and would only go away if I opened it with the default messaging app of the phone. I tried all the possible options on the Go sms Pro app but still had the same issue. And being honest is quite annoying to I just uninstalled it. Sorry for I know this is not the answer you were expecting for but lets see if there is another forum user that maybe has a solution for this.

Hello Natnat.

Ive only just registered here, because I'm thinking about buying the Xperia Mini Pro. After rummaging through the posts, I fell (don't worry, I'm ok) upon your post and I think I might have a solution for you... Of sorts:

You could change the screen unlocking program to one that does not show you new text messages.
There should be an option to exclude text messages from the notification bar, and if you pick another "text-message-less" unlock screen, you should be able to bypass the problem.

Maybe not a perfect solution, but at least it should allow you to get rid of that "eternal" text message.
