Help Notification pull down gesture

So I'm sure some of you know that the s8 and s8+ have a new gesture that can be enabled in settings that allow them to swipe down anywhere on the screen and pull down the notification bar. This is just like nova launcher. Anyone know why we can't do it???

i dont know this new gesture from which you speak but i can pull down the notification bar just like on any android device i've used.

can you let me know what's different?

so i just swiped down from mid way on the screen and the drop down did the same thing you see @54 seconds in, so yes its on the note 8.

im using nova prime so this works on 3rd party launchers.

EDIT: ooh so since i am using nova i get this naturally. you are asking about people who use the stock touchwiz correct?

Yes that is correct. I know it works on nova but I actually like touch wiz lol. Don't want to switch launchers for something so small.

I'm trying out TouchWiz and this is also bugging me, especially because where my thumb tends to reach the notification bar has me swiping over the front facing camera lens over and over again

if you use touchwiz and you dont have the update, you can download the apk and install to update the feature.

Well, apparently Verizon dumbed that down, too... because I don't see the gesture controls. Whether I swipe up or down in the middle of the screen, I get the app drawer.

You have to enable it from the settings. See video above.
