Help notification sounds

how can i use my own songs for notification sounds? im using zte racer. in notifications sound menu it only allows me to use stock sounds. how can i make any (for example) song that is on my sd card to be notification sound?
just to repeat once more, i'm NOT ASKING for calling ringtone, im asking for NOTIFICATION ringtones...

Not 100% on this but try going into your file explorer and moving your track to system/media/audio/notifications you may have to rename the track to a *.ogg file. Then try changing the tone again, see if your track shows up in the dropdown list.

Create a folder on sd card called 'notifications' put any sound file in there, mp3 wav etc. it will then be available as a ringtone
