Notification Widgets

I got my hands on a Sprint Samsung Moment couple of days ago and already am missing my little HTC Touch Vogue(Customized with Windows Mobile 6.5). I was always flashing all kinds of custom ROMs into the Vogue and realize it's not that easy on these android phones. Anyway, I would like to know if there are android apps that will display the Flip clock with the weather and also if there are widgets or apps which will display the email, text message and missed call count on the desktop. I don't care for the notification bar so much.

On another note, I am using K-9 Mail for email but now I get notification from both the stock email client as well as K-9. How does one make K-9 the default? The latest version of K-9 has taken out the Email frequency check from the settings so I'm not sure hot to set the interval for email check.

Thanks in advance for any response.

To stop the stock email client notifications...go to stock mail>menu then you should get something like settings where you will be able to uncheck notifications.

If you go to menu>add home you will get a list of apps and widgets you can add to your homescreen. If its a touch screen phone you can just long press homescreen and the list will come up there as well.

For the flip clock weather use "weather widget". For the notifications, handcent uses message counts on the icon for sms if thats what you want or theres other programs that will display the actual messages on the desktop. "Pure messenger" being one of those.

Thanks for the suggestions. I installed weather widget but don't see the flip clock with it. Is that another app/widget? I also downloaded Handcent and it seems to be a great SMS app. Now I only need an email count widget. Still searching...

Weather widget has the flip clock look. The clocks wont actually flip but they carry the same look. When adding the widget make sure to select "Weather & Flip Clock"

Thanks wingz. Found out the version I loaded has just the weather. The paid($1.49) version has the clock and the weather. Right now I am in the 30 days trial period with this Samsung Moment phone. I don't want to pay for any apps until I really decide to keep the phone.

Whats nice is if you buy an app you generally have 24 hours to decide if you like it. If you dont like it you can uninstall it and your money gets refunded.
