Notifications Failing?

I had been putting custom Notification sounds on my SD card >Media>audio>notifications and things were working great. Recently, however, my sounds will work for a matter of hours before switching the sound to silent. When I go put the sound back on, it wont play any noise (as if to preview the sound) Has anybody had issues with this?

Captivate 2.1 using Continuum ROM. But this was happening before I used that ROM. It started about the time my coworker did the 2.2 update to my phone last week.
