Nougat camera less functional? (S6 edge)

I have a Galaxy S6 edge and i have just received the Nougat upgrade. It has all gone fine, but I hate the new camera app. Previously, I would make a lot of use of the grayscale effect with the pro mode allowing me to stop up or down to get the brightness to be just right for my shot. Now, not only has the grayscale effect gone, it also does not seem to be possible to use effects in the pro mode.

Is there anyway I can get a grayscale effect back and use it with the pro mode?

Alternatively, is there a different camera app someone can recommend? I'd rather not have a specific app just for black and white photography, as I often experiment with using both black and white shots and colour of the same scene. I am also not interested in post-processing the colour shots to be black and white - I know how to do that, but I want to be able to judge as I take the shot if it seems good.

I have exactly the same problem and have found that no 3rd party apps are as good as the native camera. I have no idea why they would remove the grayscale filter. although they did keep it for selfie mode. May have just been an error. Have you found a solution?

No, I wasn't able to solve this. In standard mode there is the 'monogram' filter but I find it poor. This is not available in pro mode either. I also can't find any android apps that do this well.
