Help Nova Draining Battery

Does anyone notice that Nova is reducing their battery life? I just installed it and I love it, but it seems that my battery is dying faster than normal. After 2 hours of usage, the battery settings say that Nova has taken up 9% of battery life.

Is this normal?

Would this problem be solved if I had rooted my phone?
 
I too found that Nova Launcher had a major affect on my battery life. However I have decided to stick with it as it's so much better than Touchwiz. I think it's a choice you will have to make... Stick with TW and have a few more hours from your battery or run Nova and enjoy your phone a lot more but have to charge it more often.

I am rooted, running the stock ROM with Nova Prime Launchet and sitting at 8 hours of use, with 2.5 hours of screen on time (at 100% brightness) and now with 25% battery left. Nova has used less than 2% of the battery.
 
100% stock. 12h 11m off charger and Nova is less than 2% usage (doesn't register in the top 10).

Have you tried a reboot since installing it?
 
I would go thru the settings and see if any thing is causing the drain......eg network settings or display maybe
I had a problem with network settings and it was trying to connect to a network that my phone wasn't using
