so i tried to see if this worked:

and apparently it does not.
now, no power on. here's what it does...

plugging usb in or hitting power button result in the following:
red LED flashes 8x, call and end buttons flash the same# of times, vibes once then powers off.
any additional key presses extend the light show, but otherwise the same ol crap of blinking lights, 1vibe then powers off- any1 kno of any possible solution? i know LG has the lgnpst as a lifesaver and samsung has kinda the same thing- is there some sort of tool available that might revive my new paperweight?

I see those have kernels made specifically for the Huawei ideos.

I believe you bricked your phone, if you're able to access the boot menu however, the one where you press Call + Volume Up and Power, you should be able to use an update.zip file from the ROMs in the works.

Why would you use kernels and roms meant for other phones without them being deoxed, etc for the M835? If you aren't able to access that menu, then you're paperweight, if still under warrenty, then you'd have to go back to Metro.

Just don't mention what you did lol.

Um...maybe you should go to a DIFFERENT Metro PCS store.

Unless the resident Poke has to comment on it, better hope your warranty is still in effect. The M835 finally hiked back to 100$. The Woke up and noticed that does work, if they ask where the phone was and what it was doing, tell them you were charging it after the battery died during the day so left it overnight. It would explain...somewhat, the light show it makes.

I can't get into fastboot, recovery or anything. the Huawei screen doesn't even show up... I did this flashing cm7 for m835 no other huawei phone roms... I have no money for a replacement and would really appreciate if someone found some way to revive this phone... Oh yeah and i have the same light patterns as the original post'er.

if its less than a year since u got da fon, take it to the metro warrenty store in your area- if anything its less than 15 bucks to get a replacement back thru da mail 3-5days later.
i was sorta desperate n paid a lil more to get one out da store da same day today.

now that i know what i can flash n what not to do, im off...

You nubs should stick to the two ROMs being worked on, although I THINK development has slowed down.

Crappy phone is crappy. Some upgrade from the Ascend. PFF.
