Now on my 2nd Month, paid $50 but still on 2G?

I purchased my Samsung Galaxy sII around April 18(?) and signed up for the $50/month plan, 4G up to 500MB data. Didn't take long to use up the 500MB and it dropped down to 2G.

I just paid $50 for refill yesterday and apparently at 8:00 a.m. today it kicked in. However, I am still showing 2G speeds. When I check my T-mobile account it still reads:

"Your Web is at basic 2G speed."
and gives the "DATA USAGE WARNING".

How long does it take for the 4G to reactivate?

Okay...I spoke with the rep at 611 and he told me that the plan really wouldn't renew until the 19th. He did show the payment and said it would be applied the next day (today).

Soooo...now I am up today and get a message that I have NO DATA at all. and need to pay for data.

My account says I need to pay $50! Plan Status: Not Paid

I paid online the afternoon of the 17th. Didn't get the message until 8:03 a.m. the next day (the 18th) that my $50 had been added to my account. Now at 4:00 a.m. (the 19th) I have no data or web access!

Will I have to go through this every month?

No. My account didn't automatically pull money from my account my first month, either, but it has worked since. My guess is that there was some odd mistake made in setting up your account and, once they pull the first payment, it will "fix" whatever is messed up. I'm sorry you need to call customer service back but it should be a quick and painless phone call; after which, hopefully, everything will work fine.

Once you hit the 500Mb data during the billing period, the speeds will drop to 2G (or EDGE) speeds for the remainder of that billing period.

When the plan renews at the beginning of the next period, the speeds will then be restored to 4G. You can add funds at any time, but the speeds would remain at 2G until the next billing period begins.

Okay....got a little more sleep, and now wake up to seeing that my data plan is back :)

I did call 611 over in the night, but seems the rep couldn't look up my info b/c their lines were down as well. Said she would call me back at 6:00 a.m., but instead I look at my phone now at 9:00 a.m. and all is well again.

So, still not sure if it was the same glitch they were having, or if she remedied it after everything was back up again.

But anyway...I'm happy now.
