"Number 1 RULE when Changing Rom's....
1. Fully Charge Before doing an ODIN....
2. Let It Fully Die and Power Off & Charge Full while Off..
3. Doing the above will Show major Improvements!"

Is this true? It's a pain in the butt for me.

Absolutely, that is if you wanna have maximum performance. Just out of curiosity; why is it a pain in the butt? Flash it in the morning, use it all day since it will be fully charged; then wait til the battery completely dies, leave it off and charge it at night when you're sleeping so when you wake up, it will be charged.

Of course it's true that's why Eugene_373 (creator of all these roms) posted those instructions but if you like deminished battery life go ahead and disreguard it. Really not very hard or time consuming IMHO.

I've never heard this for changing ROM's but I have heard to do this to reset your battery statistics!

Can't I do it AFTER changing roms? And doesn't batterystats.bin replace the process?

It's only a pain because I have to use someone else's computer to change roms. I can't figure out why my dang computer won't work. So I have to plan when to kill the battery, charge it, then go change the rom.

It is the number 1 rules for changing HIS roms not all roms for all phones. Needs to be full charge because Eugene has it set to rest battery stat on first boot! So full charge resets it right. Never pushed his battery file because it's better to actually train the battery itself.

djquick, it sounds like you said I flash a new rom and then let the battery die AFTER that. I thought I had to kill the battery and recharge BEFORE flashing.

It's a pain because I have to use someone else's computer to do it. It would be easier if I could do it at home.

No no no. You fully charge your phone before you flash. then you flash. then fully drain the battery by, well, using your phone. then you fully charge your phone one more time while your phone is turned off. Now you will have properly trained your battery

It's a learning process. We've all been noobs at one time but then after trial and error, it becomes second nature.;)

Ah! Thank you for clarifying! :)
