It was about 2 weeks ago when NVIDIA halted their OTA rollout of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. This update was being pushed out to the NVIDIA Shield Tablet devices but contained a bug that caused WiFi issues.
It seems like NVIDIA's developers have resolved the WiFi issue because the OTA updates have started going out to devices again today.
