odd problem with droid and app updates

I have a moto droid with the standard 2.0.1 rom and have noticed a strange issue lately. I still get notifications when an app update is available but when I click the notification the downloads page does not list any updates available. I used to have to confirm each update but now I don't get the option to update at all. Has anyone else ever encountered this problem before? If so, how did you resolve it??

Had the same thing yesterday - notified I had 4 updates but when I pulled down the notification panel and touched that, the market page that came up showing all my installed apps did not show any updates.
