Odd Texts

Hello..

Recently I have been getting some random numbers texting me, with my name. its always the same message exactly like this

hi Joe

then if i reply who is this, it replies something about adding their yahoo chat name. Then after that it replies say "sorry no reception "

I would just assume that some website has leaked my personal info, but I have two other friends on Verizon that are getting the same texts but with their names instead.

It's a different number every time and different yahoo id every time.

Has anyone else had this, or does anyone know of anything I can do to stop this?

I'm going to guess that you have a Yahoo account? Possibly set up to forward sms messages?

This could very well be spam bots IMing you. They never are connected for long, and that could explain your error messages when you respond.

First, stop responding to them. Second, check your yahoo settings. Delete your mobile number, and be sure to disable sms forwarding.

Or i could be completely wrong. This is what i thought of when i read your post though.
