Of laundry equipment

We're moving soon, to an apartment with washer/dryer hookups. I'm seriously considering getting one of those all-in-one washer/dryer units, in the interest of conserving space (yes, the new apartment has space for the stackable washer/dryer combo, but the all-in-one would allow for installing a few shelves above it, and would be easier for a short user).

Has anyone tried these, and what did you think of them?

They may be slightly better now but historically they were never as good as separates. If you're only going to do the occasional dry it may be alright, but if you intend to dry a lot, get a dryer.

i work for a&e which is sears for home repairs and i do checks on them all the time and help the techs work on them. 95% of people love them and not manny have problems. like anything pros and cons and always there will be cons. they just don't have the capacity to do bed spreads or big stuff, so have to go to laundry mat. hope answered ?.

If it can cope with towels, queen-size sheets or blankets, or DH's work clothes, I'm happy. :)

We have a really small stackable W/D in our apartment and it can't fit large blankets, but we can get all our sheets (full size) in one load. Big stuff, just make that monthly, or whenever, trip to the laundromat to clean. BTW, never used the all-in-ones, but stackables suck. We had a larger sized one (almost full size) in our old apartment and now the smaller one and neither did a terribly good job at cleaning. But, obviously, YMMV. :)
And where are there rest of the Europeans at to comment.

You can do what I've got. When I moved in, there were two front loaders that were stacked. They're not the stackable model, but they're stacked anyway.
