Help Offical 2.2.1. in UK

Hi all,
I tried to update my unbranded galaxy s via kies last night but the firmware upgrade is saying i have the lastest firmware i.e. 2.2.

Is 2.2.1. available in the UK?

Yes it's available here in the UK. I updated to 2.2.1 about 3 weeks ago and it's the best firmware yet, it's fast smooth and no lag.
 
Don't see it here in NZ yet using Kies 2.0 (and can't upgrade Kies, as far as I'm aware; says I have the newest version already).

Update: phoned Samsung NZ and asked when 2.2.1 would be available through Kies, and the guy got mad at me for no reason, saying Telecom doesn't even have 2.2 yet, and rushed me off the phone, saying he couldn't knorr when updates are made available.
 
I've installed Kies 2 but still no option to update to 2.2.1. Anyone else in the UK able to update to the official 2.2.1. via Kies?

Kies 2 is saying i have the lastest firmware version: PDA:JPA / PHONE:JPP / CSC:JP4

It's available for unbranded phones here in the UK. If your on network specific firmware you have to wait for the network to release there version.
But with 2.3 around the corner they may not bother with 2.2.1 and go straight to 2.3
 
I upgraded mine last week, it's definitely available in the UK.
Is your handset network specific/locked? Kies should ask you to update it when 2.2.1 is available for your specific handset.
 
Upgraded my unbranded UK handset last week to 2.2.1 with the old kies. Runs really nice, no lag as yet, even wifi signal seems a little better.
 
When I install Kies from the 'UK' link above (supposing it is), it says I have the newest firmware still (I'm in Auckland); so I'm guessing whatever Kies we use doesn't matter as much as where we use it?
 
As far as I know KIES reads your phones product code which can be alot of different ones. Here in Sweden the 2.2.1 is also out but not for everyone since the S was sold here with two product codes, XEE and NEE. Only one of those codes has gotten the update so far, the other one has to wait for a few weeks. The same should go for everyone else, some product codes get it faster. Can only assume it is because there are small differences in the codes.
Your best bet would be to find your product code, *2767*4387264636#, and ask your local Samsung support when they are going to release your update - if they know that is.

Not everyone with NEE got the update, it was only out for some hours or a day, then Samsung took it away, same as they did with the 2.2 update. The one who got the 2.2.1 update was those who was lucky to try at that day. It was out here in Norway also, but now it's gone.
 
I updated to 2.2.1, much improved. Not sure whether to apply a lag fix or not as its pretty quick.

What are peoples experiences here of running lag fix with 2.2.1?

The only downside I've found to 2.2.1 is that animated gifs no longer work.
