Official Ginger 2.3.5 benches and thoughts (European version)

OK, just upgraded my Ace to Ginger 2.3.5 (from 2.3.3, European version).
What's new:
- Well, I can see new font, more bold, better reading, IMO.
- I can see some new visual effects as well (blue band when you reach last or first results/list).
I had only 2 "major probs" with my 2.3.3 firmware: slightly slow power-on switching and veeery slow proximity sensor on/off. Now wake up is fast, and proximity sensor response is also quite faster now, but... not as fast as I had it with Froyo :(
UPDATE: after some days of use, I can say that wake-up time and sensor response is quite the same as in 2.3.3 version. Still not as fast as with 2.2.1 :(
Anyway, overall performance is/seems like faster/smoother than before :)
- WiFi works like a charm, very fast connection (never had problems with WiFi, either with 2.3.3 or Froyo :p ).
- All my info are there, haven't lost any sms, history, etc. stuff. All other settings have remained intact as well.
- More free memory available (not much but still)

I have made some benchies :)
NOTE: don't know what happens with BenchmarkPi :confused: It's even slower now :eek:
As for AnTuTu, I have made full bench, so I included SD card score separately. If you need to know the score without SD card bench, just take away those points from total score points.

Thanks. There has been an announcement that there is 2.3.6 update for India coming soon so I am hoping there are more improvements than this ver :) More a hope than a guess :D
 
I think 2.3.6 is being released for s5830I and not for s5830. Can anyone confirm? I'm currently with 2.3.4 in India. Kies shows it's the latest firmware.
 
Yes 2.3.4 is the currente ver in India & KIES confirms it for me too. But s5830I has never sold in India so why did they make that announcement? Mine is Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830/S (GT-S5830OKAINU)

Yes you're right. There is no such model released anywhere in the world I guess.
 
Thanks for this. Can I ask, when you said of 2.3.3 that you experienced 'slightly slow switching on', did you mean simply the powering up stage, or were you including the SD Card loading stage as well?
 
I mean simply the powering stage, the "wake up", you know.
But, after some days of use, I have to say that it still somewhat slow :confused: I think the first day it was just a "WOW :p 2.3.5 is available for my Ace" feeling :D But it still "slow" if you compare it to 2.2.1. So, no improvement in 2.3.5 :( Anyway, the overall performance is better, so I recommend to upgrade, of course.

PS: I have updated the first post also.
