I have read on several sites that the L70 (no specific model number given) will be getting a official Lollipop.
Is there any truth to this?

Its not yet confirmed for L70, but is confirmed for L90. Which is pretty similar to the L70. But obviously it all depends on LG.
And secondly if it does get confirmed, their is Android M (Macadamia Nut Cookie) also on the way. So we might have to wait a long time for official lollipop or might be that LG will skip Lollipop for our L70 and give Android M directly. Which has happened in the past for a lot of lower - mid range phones.
But remember this is not yet confirmed, so don't rise your hopes just yet until LG officially confirms this.
