Official Twitter App notifications

I really like the new twitter for Android app, but I've been noticing it's not sending notifications. I talked to Twitter and they said it's a problem on Google's side, but if that were true wouldn't there be problems with other apps?

Does anyone have any idea of how to fix this?

After a bit of testing it looks like it's an account problem. I am able to get push notifications with a different twitter account on the exact same device and I haven't uninstalled or cleared anything.
