Ok new to this rooting thing. First off I have been able to change the hardware on the old bb curve and that was easy for me. So im not too scared.

I was looking in this thread here

Which led me here

I did read a lot however keep seeing different ways. I have gone over all the steps and found out that i have a 32b MT3G. That directed me here

I noticed that it tells you to turn back the time to a 1.5. Do i really have to do that? I seen a place where it says this:

Flash Android1.6 & CyanogenMod latest

You will now install the actual OS of the phone. First you will install the legal Google apps, and then you will install CyanogenMod on top of those apps.

1.
* Fastboot a recovery image
* These instructions are based on this image: (recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.5.2G.img)
* To enter fastboot mode, power up the device (or reboot it) while holding down the BACK key. Hold the BACK key down until the bootloader screen is visible and shows "FASTBOOT". The device is now in fastboot mode and is ready to receive fastboot commands.
* In the Android SDK tools directory run: fastboot boot recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.5.2G.img
2. Optionsal Step
* If you wish to have an option to return to your factory settings, select Backup/Restore and do a Nand Backup. If not, continue.
* Select Wipe to clear all user programs and data. (can avoid problems)
3. select "Flash zip from sdcard"
* select DRC83_base_defanged.zip and wait for it to complete.
4. STOP - DO NOT REBOOT YOUR PHONE
5. select "Flash zip from sdcard"
* Select update-cm-4.2.x-signed.zip and wait for it to complete
6. When this is complete, reboot your phone using the menu.
7. Wait. Your phone will say writing radio image and then reboot. This will take a couple of minutes. Be patient! (though this should not take longer than 10 minutes)
8. If the phone enters Recovery mode after rebooting, press Home & Back again to reboot it once more. You should see the blue CyanogenMod Android logo this time.
To me that seams to be the easiest way and should work. Am i missing something? Will this work? If it does work like that y would they not just have that there to begin with. Y have all that other stuff?

Anyways appreciate all the help on this even if it sounds redundant.
