Okay Google screen off

I love my Pixel XL, but one issue I've noticed is sometimes okay Google won't work while my screen is off and other times it will.

When this happens the only way I have found to fix it is by restarting my phone. Any suggestions??

When it doesn't work, can you check at Settings > Security & Location > Smart Lock > Trusted voice to make sure that both Say "Ok Google" any time and Trusted Voice are enabled?

Trusted Voice may sometimes automatically disable itself if it hears "Okay Google" but is unable to verify that it is indeed your voice.
