Old apps taking up space on sd card?

Hi All,

I just replaced my Samsung Stratosphere with an identical (supposedly) Samsung Stratosphere that has a working screen :D. Anyway, I had a whole bunch of applications on my SD card on my old phone. I've transferred the SD card over to my new phone, which doesn't see any of the apps I'd installed on its predecessor. I assume this is to be expected? I can always reinstall them. My question, however, is: are those old apps taking up valuable SD card space? If so, what should I do about it?

Also, should I be able to see the old apps on the sd card if I have an identical system?

Nope. By default the apps are stored to the phone, and not the SD card. Any part of the app that goes to the SD card are just cache and maybe some additional data. But the app itself, the launcher and the files needed for the phone to detect you have installed etc is on the phone.
