Old B&W Photos in colour

Someone posted this on my FB news feed earlier.

I loved old photos anyway but seeing them colourised makes them all the more interesting (for me anyway):

Ah yes, Autochrome. An interesting early color process among several others. My guess is the images have been enhanced to some degree owing to the vobrant colors which were hard to obtain with Autochrome.

To be accurate, they are not really "old black and white photos in color." The Autochrome process was a black and white process (like Technicolor) the end result were color images on glass plates.

some of those images look amazing! I love looking back in time with pictures, and to see them brought to life with color just makes it better. It gives you a perspective you didn't see before

they just dont seem that old because there in color. that is just amazing!

I saw these really neat pictures the other day, the glass slides are hand painted. I can't find the original story I read but here are some of the pictures and the blog (with some pictures) about them.
