Old S3 thread guy - need new phone/plan advice

Newbie
Was an anxious particpant in the original Samsung S3 thread many years ago and the trusty phone is getting old and slow. Time for something new. I'm too busy to scour the sites for the recent news on upcoming and new phones and/or deals. Anyone point me to the right threads?

I'd prefer Samsung if they are still solid and reliable phones. I like the compatability with streaming directly to my Samsung TV. The S6 looks nice, and it appears that it might be on sale for Black Friday. But is anything new on the horizon?

I also plan on dropping out of my UDP. I hate to do it, but don't use much for data and with 4 lines (3 are not UDP), it seems that I can drop my overall bill by combining into a shared data plan. Anything that is not obvious that I should be aware of?

In summary; I"m looking for links to new phone threads; or insight to if the S6 or similar are good or problematic. Also looking for leaks on Black Friday deals for Verizon, Best Buy or COSTCO.

Thanks in advance, this forum didn't disappoint several years back and I'm sure it will help again.

I like the bigger size of the Notes...

I bought a Verizon Note 4 a couple of days ago off of Swappa.com for $290 in OEM condition with a Speck case just like I have on my S5.
It also has a spare battery. Found as low as $220 in various conditions.

I too like the Samsung menus and features. Been using them since Smartphones first showed up.

I left Sammy and sprung for a Moto X Pure Edition. No stylus, but it has a microSD slot and works great on Verizon. Love it :D

I would love to have several different kinds of phones here to work with....
I think that it would make me a better contributor for helping others.
So far, I have to stick with just basic Android type help...

My Note 4 is supposed to arrive today.... anxious to start playing with that.

Ended with Note5 and shared data. Wanted to go shared data for family of 3 and unlimited for myself but was told that it wasn't possible (couldn't have shared data and unlimited data on the same account).

you are right, you can have UDP on one line, and the other lines are separate....
Or, you can go with a Shared Plan.....

but you can't have your cake and eat it too on the same Account Owner's ticket.
