old text messages coming in as new ones

Every once in awhile I am getting very old text messages ...they are coming in as if just being sent .It was so bad one day I had to ask the person if they were even sending me the texts...because of the content I knew they were months old .

I'd say this is a carrier issue. The texts are sent from servers, and if the carrier didn't detect that you received them, it will send them again. However, this can sometimes happen hours later. I can't say I've seen months later, but carriers also store texts for some time.

Please notify your carrier and see if they can reset that server.
