old xperia will not text sideways

okay everyone i have an older xpeia sony ericsson. when i turn to text so my fat fingers can type it will no longer allow me to. When I go to settings all i see is wireless controls, call settings, sound display, data sync, online service accounts,location,security,applications,sd card andphone storage,date and time, locale and text(did not see it here), search,speech synthesis,and about phone.

Please help me so ican text my kids
