On-line backup apps preventing sync

Hi,

I've found that when I have an on-line backup app installed, my Desire won't sync either automatically or manually.
I've tried Handybackup and Sprite Backup. When I uninstall the app everything is fine, but as soon as I re-install it, sync'ing stops.
Has anyone else had this before, or have any ideas?
