One Camera v Nexus 4

I'm getting pretty peeved with my Nexus 4 camera, the stock Android Camera app and their combined inability to raise the shutter speed to capture a bit of motion.

Pictures of the kids on my N4 are almost always blurry when then move a little. It appears that the stock app and the N4 camera refuse to increase the ISO to allow a faster shutter speed. Even in 'action' scene nothing much seems to change and you're left with low ISO, 1/20 ish shutter speed and the invariable blurred shots.

From what i've seen on the likes of Flickr and other forums, the One camera and software seem to happy increase the ISO to allow faster shutter speeds.

Is this what people are seeing? Can you please confirm? Are you using any specials scenes or modes?

I most things about my N4, but this camera issue is really starting to annoy me and I think an upgrade is in the offing. :)

Thanks

The One doesn't have what I'd consider a "portrait" quality camera, but it is noticeably better than my N4 camera in all areas. The only downside (depending on your preferences) is that you will have HTC Sense instead of vanilla Android, but You'll have to make that call for yourself. (Sense doesn't bother me at all, but it does some)

Try a One at a store and see how you like the pictures.

Thanks Bob. Used to hate sense on my Desire, but that was a long time ago and I hear Sense is diluted these days. But its the camera thats the killer for me.

Too many pictures of my kids blurred by the N4 and its reluctance to up the ISO to allow the shutter speed to go quicker.

When I see a set like this on Flickr it makes me think I need the One ASAP.

HTC s last few phones have had absolutely killer cameras.

Whereas my last two phones; Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 haven't.

I'll be giving up Stock and quick updates, but I think i'll be gaining more things i'll actually use, like the camera.

As a parent, you'll love this phone's camera and video and the Zoe option is great fun. The gallery is great and the sharable highlight/slideshow it creates with music is awesome!! It takes some exploring to get used to the settings and features but, worth it. You should go to a store and give it a test run and do some online research.

Good luck

Googles mentioned that's one thing theyre actively working on for future nexus phones
