One Messaging/E-mail App

I am curious if it is possible to make a widget or app that combines messaging and e-mail applications so they are all housed in one central location. I know that Blackberry has established this with their "hub" and would like something similar.
I thought android had an app similar that would accomplish this, but I am not finding anything.
I wish I had the capabilites and the time to try and figure out how to do this... but I don't.
Hoping someone has a solution!

Email and SMS are totally different applications, using totally different concepts amd protocols, for totally different purposes. What you'd end up with would be 2 complete apps with a common user interface, and the end result of that is that each one performs equally poorly.

Anyone remember Microsoft Doesn't Works?
