One touch dialing widget?

This article mentions one touch dialing via The People Widget as one reason Android is better than iPhone.

I can't seem to locate this widget nor can I find anything for the Nexus that does this. I feel like there is an easy answer but it alludes me.

I don't know about that widget. But if you long press the background-->Shortcuts-->Direct Dial---> the contact you want.
I don't know if that's what you want.
