One V voice quality

Just found this forum, first time posting. Posted this somewhere else first because I didn't know about this one, definitely seems more active here.
. Have a One V that I bought 5 days ago.
Like the phone so far but the few calls that I made was difficult to hear the persons I was speaking to,voices sounded muffled. Tried it on speaker phone and didn't sound any better. They said they could hear me fine though. Worst voice quality of any cell I have ever owned.
Anything I can do to improve the voice quality? If not it's a deal killer for me.

Thanx

l have that phone, but no longer on vm due to same problem. I spoke to techs from vm/sprint. I shut off voice privacy via settings. My htc one v worked great everywhere except my home zip code. The rochester ny city and inner ring suburb coverage was good, but web was slow. The outer ring suburb coverage was poor and web was unusable unless you use wifi. Calls cut in and out, with no-2 bars constantly changing. The sprint updates site for 4g lte updates network doesn't even list this area at all. people complained that my voice cut in and out, and so did theirs . Yet, at other locations phone worked fine. Hence, i told tech that problem is not the phone, it is their network. I went back to st/at&t and have no problems at my home with either voice or web on less expensive zte smartphone ....merit/avail.
i greatly prefer the htc one v, but the network where i spend 90% of my time just is not up to standards. In real estate, the 3 most important factors are location. In cell phones, lt is the network.

btw, at the techs suggestion, i did total phone reset also. Phone had the ota software update on it. So, it was obvious the problem was not the phone. In fact, i am using it right now on wi-fi only.

Thanks for the reply mrnyjet, sorry about the delay. I changed the privacy setting, sounds a little better but still not as clear as it should. I am in South Jersey area and although the network signal is not great in some areas the voice clarity is still not good even with a strong signal. My 10 year old,20 dollar trackphone sounds better !! No 4G network here, but this is a 3G phone anyway. Did one update when I got it and none are available at this time per the phone. I'm not going to bother with tech support, will just return this phone to RS where I bought it and get a refund. Will have to chalk the 35 monthly fee up to "experience". Too bad, other than the voice clarity I like the phone for this price range.

Returned it to RS yesterday.Salesman said this was the first one v they heard of with that problem. Actually he has been pretty honest with me so far, verified about the Evo V battery problem when I asked him about it. He also said some Virgin I phones have been having issues. Might try one of their I Phones once I save up enough, maybe they'll have the issues worked out by then. Till then I'm still on basic Tracfone.

funny thing is that radio shack and cricket are both selling the one v for their prepaid service. Cricket guy told me their network is just city and nearnsuburbs, but you roam on partner network- sprint. So, like vm and boost, until sprint improves and extends their network, you will have problems in outer suburbs and rural areas. Sprint contracts can roam on verizon. Verizon did not want that, but feds told them do it or band back your license and exit the business. Now, if they would only go after att.
