OnePlus One Accessories Thread

According to OnePlus they will have their own accessories, but no official third party accessories at first. I haven't seen any official stuff yet.

We will have different accessories in this regards, and we tried to go back to the basic user need of why they need to cover their phone, and we think we have a really cool solution that addresses this need, which will be a surprise announcement soon that I can’t comment more on. Because we are a new start-up we won’t initially have any third-party accessory makers working with us, but we have planned a range of accessories that will be released under our own brand.

Could be useful, I suspect that accessories for the Oppo Find 7/7a would also suit the OnePlus One, e.g. cases. They're both very similar form factor, and buttons, sockets, etc. are in the same locations AFAICT. Probably not screen protectors though as the One has a slightly smaller front glass, it goes all the way to the edge on the Find 7.

I've got a leather pocket pouch that I use @ work to secure/protect my phones, but, went ahead & ordered this, shipping today:

http://www.mobilefun.com/46787-toughguard-oneplus-one-rubberised-case-black.htm

TBH,I'm not so sure that it'll get much use, but,I'd rather have it & not need it than vice versa.

Also, the texture of the backside of the phone is different than anything else out there,it'd be a shame to not at least give it a go.

I think I'll like it sans case, especially when toting in the pouch, days using the case will likely be few & far between.

Looking forward to your impressions! "Rubberized" can mean a lot of different things for a case/sleeve. My wife's SGS3 rubbery case makes it impossible to slip into most pockets, for example...

I'm keen on going without anything extra if it's within reason - I'm curious to learn whether the "sandstone" texture has any extra tendencies to pick up pocket lint, stains, or hand grime/grit in general - comments on this front have been very mixed (as in polar opposites) between different "first impression" reviews.

EDIT: Time will tell, but as I'm coming from a much smaller phone I am also keen to learn whether any options like the orange flipcover above might actually improve upon general handling?

I ended up canceling the above order & got this one instead:

Blackout OnePlus One Case - The light at the end of the tunnel for your OnePlus One.

A very slim fit & I like the cut-outs for the buttons,as it makes it easier to locate & depress both the rocker for the volume & power button.

Also provides a bit of edge protection for the face of the phone.

I won't use a case most of the time,as I totally dig the sandstone finish & feel-in-hand w/o a case.

However, this one will do the job when needed.

I see a lot of people jumping at the aluminum bumper cases. I think I am going to pick one up but the 10-20 day shipping period is holding me back at the moment. Trying to see if I can get one in a shorter amount of time.

If you're into QI wireless charging, the 1+1 is capable, w/a universal QI Charging receiver pad {TYPE B} . (I recommend using as close to 1amp or better tags only, definitely nothing less than .75amp)

When swapping out backplates, this would be the ideal time to put one in place.

Of course, a less 'permanent' install can be accomplished by using a case to cover/hold the receiver pad in place.

May have to get this in addition to the Cruzerlite.

I got the black one. And while it looks nice, it offer NO protection god forbid it should fall.

The bamboo swapstyle back cover is now listed on their website as "coming soon" for $49.

$49 bucks?!?!?!?! Really! How much is the kevlar one going to cost when and if it comes out?

Now it was said on their forums that the NFC is built into the cover. It is my hope that someone creates an aftermarket versions cause $49 bucks is a little too high.

That's the case I'm currently using... It's nice and provides decent drop protection...

How do you decide whether protection will be needed. I have a hard time predicting when I'm going to drop my phone!

I have a leather clip-on pouch that fits in my work shirt pocket.
I'm not on my phone in situations where I'd be prone to dropping my phone when @ work.

After hours,I use the TPU case when I'm out & about.

At home,au naturel.... ;)
