Help Oneplus One stuck at 00%

I replaced my OPO's battery, and now it shows the "battery too low charge before power on !" screen, after a couple of minutes it goes away just to show the charging icon stuck at 00%.

It may sometimes boot while plugged in, but won't charge, and turns off immediately after being disconnected.

I can also access cyanogenmod recovery.

Could be a faulty or knock-off battery. Where did you get it from? I assume you have charged it before using?
Can you contact the seller?

Could just be a resistor, and the rest is packed out with sawdust or something, and is not actually a battery at all. As the OnePlus, along with its close cousin Oppo F7 have become increasingly popular, there are starting to be aftermarket knock-off things being made for them in China.

Well, how do I check if the battery is original? Do I peel de plastic or something?

Here are some images to help state my problem:

If you post a picture of the battery front and back Juan these guys may be able to tell you if it's it's a knock off or not, it's pretty easy to tell a fake when you've seen a lot of them!!

Looking at the top of the battery the way the "seal" is placed around the top in that second shot, it doesn't look too good to me, but Mike is actually in China, if anyone knows it's him! Good luck!

The covering looks a bit crappy at the top, not applied very well, but I've not seen a OnePlus battery myself in person.

Here's a OnePlus, looks like it's very much the same, that's not very tidy at the top either. It's only a paper or thin sticky-back plastic covering.

Does your original OnePlus battery only have Chinese printing on it, or is it in English? Batteries that have Chinese cautions and warnings on them, are usually intended for domestic sale in China.

Does the original battery still charge and work OK, it should do, and it's not a duff charger or phone problem. OnePlus is only a year old.

If so, I'd say it's almost certainly duff or knock-off, and take it up with the vendor. Knock-offs can be made very convincing, like a Samsung Galaxy phone, and only way to immediately tell is to turn it on and use it.

There are legal aftermarket OnePlus compatible batteries, that don't carry manufacturer branding, and they work no problems. Like there are for most other major brands and popular phones.

Talk about NOT being conclusive Mike, I felt that lousy "wrapping" job at the top of the battery would be the case cracker for sure, but the original battery looks just as crappy, lmao!!

The problem with the original battery is that it got inflated and broke through my phone's backplate, it seemed dangerous, so I disposed it immediately. But then again, the phone booted and charged even with the damaged battery.

The battery wrap got a little bit dull in the top as I had to pull resistor a little in order to connect it.

Attached are the pictures I took before removing the old battery

I moved the thread from questions to the OnePlus One forum, where there's other readers using this phone type.

For reference this is my spare Oppo Find 7 battery. The Oppo F7 and OnePlus One are very closely related phones, and they're made in Oppo's factory. But the appearance is quite different, doesn't have the cheap paper wrapping on it, and it looks just like many other phone batteries. The numbers are very similar, Oppo is BLP659, OnePlus is BLP571. They both maybe interchangeable, I've not seen any information on that. Perhaps they put them in the garish red branded paper wrapper, just to differentiate theirs from an ordinary looking boring Oppo F7 battery? :D

It was dangerous, metal fires are extremely dangerous, which could have happened. The battery could have been faulty, OR there was a fault in the charging circuit and it overcharged or overvoltaged it. Given what's happening with the replacement not charging, but the phone is powering up when on the charger. That makes me think there could be a fusible safety component in the phone's charging circuit, and it's now blown. Which means the phone will require OnePlus service.

Would they still help me? I replaced the battery which is said to void the warranty.

Guess I will have to make a video and summit it to support.

The battery you posted looks like an official one plus battery to me.. They aren't wrapped in plastic like a lot of batteries.. I watched and interview one time and it said they did this BC they wanted the battery to be thinner! Not sure how true it is but yes that battery looks official to me..

You may be able to find a "generic" replacement on Ebay Juan, I've seen some on there for other phones looking for one for mine, you could just take a look there and see if anything turns up.

Actually, I bought the replacement from ebay, the only problem is that all of them come from china. And well, I live in Latin America, so it took like 20 days to come.

Yeh, they all come from China, especially given that OnePlus comes from China as well. :thumbsupdroid: ...shipped out from Hong Kong I believe.

Surely OnePlus sells spare batteries don't they?

OK, I've finally realized something about the OnePlus One, and it's not good. Officially it's a sealed battery, NOT user replaceable! That's why they're on Ebay, and not OnePlus's website. I just checked, can't find batteries on OnePlus's Chinese site either, oneplus.cn Which is unlike the Oppo F7, and is officially user replaceable.

This thread has some details about it on the OnePlus forums...

You're in Latin America, might end-up having to send it back to Hong Kong....I don't know. I know OnePlus doesn't have any service presence outside of mainland PRC(where I am), or Hong Kong SAR.

So, what should I do now? Spend another $30 on a new battery? Send the phone back to Oneplus after I voided the warranty? Or just resign and buy a phone with a user replaceable battery?

The Oneplus One was supposed to be a budget powerhouse, not a ~$400 waste...

Are you sure you have the battery plugged in correctly?? Just BC OnePlus says it isn't user replaceable doesn't mean you can't change it.. You actually can.. There are YouTube videos with people changing it

Its like iPhone.. I have changed several iPhone batteries for people.. Just undo the glue and plug it back in and you should be fine..

I connected it, and it clicked and everything, what could be wrong?
Did you mess with the system?. Do you have root? And if they aren't supposed to be user replaceable how did you took the cover off? If my phone blew up like that no bro yo ni Madre's I'll take it back onde lo compre . if its still under warranty that is. Did you wet your one plus ? Are you using the original AC charger? USB don't matter. And because you said it went into recovery. So it DOES have juice? If your not rooted could be a firmware upgrade that didn't play nice with your phone.

Whoa, too many questions! Well, it is not rooted. I got acces to the board by removing 9 screws from a plastic plate that covered it. Well, I cannot take it back to onde lo compre, its like 14,500 km away from my house. Yes, I'm using the original charger and usb cable. It goes into recovery and stays on it for a couple of minutes before turning back off (unplugged).

If that helps, I updated to lollipop when my battery was already damaged, took the battery out a day after.
