Online Ordering Question

Let's say I order my Droid online from the VZW site and it has an issue when I receive it. Can I take it to a Verizon store and get it swapped on the spot or will I have to call VZW and have it shipped out and ship mine back?
Thanks in advance.

You can take it to a corp store. For the first 30 days they can swap it for a new one if you have warranty issues. After 30 days, you may want to call in to tech support first. They'll troubleshoot, and if a warranty replacement is appropriate, you can request they call your local store to see if they have a "certified like new" phone in stock, otherwise, they'll send it to you.

GGP is right, however even after 30 days if you go into a store for a replacement, there is a good chance we wont have it in stock and will have to send it out to you anyways. This is how most new phones are and most stores don't carry all pdas. Now since the Moto Droid is kinda our new flagship phone this may be a whole new ball game that only time will tell. For example, we still don't carry replacement Tours in the store, we have to ship them.

Thanks guys. I have another quick question. If I were to buy it from Best Buy and during the first 30 days have issues, I'd need to take it back to Best Buy right? And what about after the 30 days... Will I still have the 1 year manufacturers warranty through Verizon or does it go through Best Buy?

hmmm, might have to refer you to BB to get that answer about initial return time. After that though, yes, warranty replacements can be done through VZW.

it is my understanding as long as you are a vzw cutomer you can go to a coroperate store and they will help you....
