Only 2 Vanilla phones?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but are there only 2 phones (Nexus One, Droid) that are currently running Vanilla Android. I'm pretty saddened that there are so many Android phones with Custom Skins, I want the option to use vanilla!!!!

any of the phones that dont have a locked bootloader (droid x and droid 2 that i know of here in the states) and have been rooted have the option of running vanilla android or even custom roms built off of vanilla android. i know this isnt ideal and the lack of vanilla devices truly does suck but if thats what we're given might as well make the best of it for now.

also i'm pretty sure the droid 1 has been discontinued... the nexus one is pretty much only available to developers now too... :(

i insist my next phone be a vanilla version.. i will stick with my nex until another surfaces!

I too prefer Vanilla. I read that google is pushing for Gingerbread to address a lot of the issues that make manufacturers default to custom skins, and users remove them in favor of desktop replacements. Supposedly Gingerbread will try to entice people to want to use stock android.

If the phone's rooted, why does it even matter? Just avoid anything by Motorola (except the original Droid), and you can have a phone that's as kinky or vanilla as you like. AFAIK, right now there are only a few pariah phones in existence, and they're all by Motorola. Every other Android phone has long since been rooted (some before they even arrived at stores), and can be turned into a blank canvas for your custom Android installation at will.
