Well, now that I just upgraded to lollipop, why do I now just get a 3g signal? Or is it the weather? ?? Samsung S5.

Verizon.....getting in the garage on my tablet though and on pc
Both Sprint and Verizon use a PRL data file to ensure that your phone knows what towers to access.

It's easily hosed on an update.

With Sprint, users can update it themselves.

You can search the Internet and find out how to do it with Verizon too except half of the time (my guess from helping people) that can do more harm than good - Verizon is set up for them to do it.

Give them a call, ask tech support if it's reasonable - they can update it for you over the phone.

I could be wrong, but I'd definitely start there.

Fixed itself. I put in airplane mode for 30 seconds, went back to normal and now I have good 4g again. Ain't technology wonderful? ??

Yeah lol.

Glad you got it sorted.

That means that you likely have a wonky tower in your area and the phone couldn't get a good lock.

Coming out of airplane mode forced it to reacquire the signal.

Glad you didn't have to go the way I suggested!! O.o

just for future FYI, on Verizon you dial up *228 and choose option 1 or 2 depending on if you need updates or PRL info

And that has caused a problem for a lot of Verizon phones.

Learned that the hard way giving out the same advice.

Why do you think I advised against it? ;)
