Only person NOT using widgets?

Having seen so many people posting images of their homescreens, I have come to the conclusion that I must be the only person to hardly use widgets!

I have two - Calendar Pad (1x1) which shows me todays date and when I click it it takes me direct to my week view, and the Power Bar to turn off WiFi, GPS, etc.

I've tried things like Facebook, Twitter, News, etc, and just get frustrated as they don't really display enough. Maybe I've just not found the RIGHT widgets yet, but I fear I may be missing out on something!

5 widgets
- Gmail Unread Count
- SMS Unread Count
- Power Control Widget (included in 2.1)
- Lock Pattern On Off
- Overclock Widget (with custom ROM)

Haven't found any others that I need or can find useful.

I'm pretty picky with my widgets too, but I've found a number that work for me just from trial and error.

I love a lot of the HTC widgets, but many of the stock android ones are pretty bland.

My favorite so far has to be the "People" widget which allows me to put one of my contact lists on a homescreen. I put my "favorites" lists on that screen which allows me to call/text my family and my boyfriend quickly—they're the ones I contact most anyway.

Strange fear. It's not a one-size-fits-all world. use what you find useful.

I basically use the power widget and the widget for 3. That's it. Haven't found any of the others that I've run across to be useful.

im running on my desire:

battery left/time remaining
LED light
3g monitor
internal memory used/left
SD card memory used/left
swtich to vibrate
htc power control bar
htc calandar
weather/clock
bookmarks
and 5 news widgets (bbc/engaget, rss to the escapist, android and me and phandroid)

=)

I can not get enough of widgets!

I have:

With that I still have a blank screen

Seems like even the only person NOT using widgets is actually using them after all! Just not much. ;)

Personally, I really enjoy some of the widgets on the Incredible. I like having some of that information at my very fingertips, straight from when I practically unlock my phone, without having to do any sort of digging. Yes, there is plenty to be desired in terms of usability, or in terms of the amount of information that's displayed, but then again, widgets are not really meant to be "all encompassing" either. A widget is simply supposed to be a "cliff-notes" of sorts for information. I'll probably continue to use 'em, but never set your sights too high on a widget, because in the end, it's still just that - A widget! :)

I think that widget use is limited by number of screens and widget size. Also some widgets are not particularly useful or informative. I'm using DxTop (5 screens) on a moto Droid and I'm running 8 widgets right now:

  1. Advanced Task Killer (one touch kill for non- excepted apps)
  2. Calendar pad (better view of the google calendar than the stock android widget)
  3. Weatherbug elite (my favorite weather app)
  4. BatteryLife (my favorite battery life meter)
  5. Color Note (leaves post it notes and to do lists on screen - great for remembering to do stuff)
  6. Settings Bar (on touch controls of major systems)
  7. Predator Clock (clock widget that looks like the predator's wrist based count-down bomb timer)
  8. Music - mp3 player control and song info without having to open program.

I have three widgets... My main screen has the clock/weather widget (2 x 4), and right below it is a weather widget for another area (2 x 2). The third is a calendar widget on another screen.

I have quite a few!

1.Digital Clock
2.Android Agenda Widget
3.Pure Grid Calendar (yes, I have two calendar widgets - 4x2 on the same screen)
4.Mint.com
5.Google News&Weather
6.Google Power Control
7.Touiteur (4x3) Best Twitter App!

:-)

I've been looking around at a few more now - am running the Calendar Pad Pro one and Advanced Task Killer (one hit to kill everything except my exclude list) plus the Power Manager and also a Wifi/3G data counter as well.

I think it's fair to say I like my widgets:

1- Overclock Widget
2- Battery indicator
3- Mobile data + WiFi toggle switches
4- Music widget
5- Spotify
6- A calender widget
7- Audiomanager
8- 4 different Apps Organiser widgets

And of course, what home screen is complete without the HTC flipclock :)

I love widgets. They're pretty. I have widgets I don't even use just to get rid of blank spaces.

Clock/weather (Beautiful widgets)
3 Banana
All Labels
HTC Agenda
Power Bar
Weather Bug Elite radar map
Battery
Facebook
Android and Me
Pandora
Dolphin HD bookmarks

Widgets:
Digital Clock
The Weather Channel (wide)
Ringer Toggle
Android power bar
and an Aura widget for each character

I've actually contacted developers about their widgets. Only one has said widgets aren't important to him, but he said he doesn't use widgets much at all:mad:
