Only receiving Gmail and Yahoo Mail when charging!!!???

For the past month or two I have only been receiving Gmail and Yahoo Mail messages when charging my phone! when I open the app they are there but no new mail notifications.

I have cleared my caches (via Device Manager, Settings > Apps > Clear Data/Cache, CCleaner) as well as turned the notification switches off then on the restarted.

I have not gone into my carriers shop as of yet.

Any ideas!?

So you get the mail, just not the notification? Check to see if your phone goes into "Do Not Disturb" mode when you unplug it.
 
That sounds like your phone is going into doze mode and not waking up to give you the notification. While charging, your phone doesn't go into doze so that'd be my guess why they're only coming through then. Make sure the apps aren't optimized for battery usage. Can't say for sure where the setting is on the s7 but on my s8 it's settings, device maintenance, battery, battery usage, three dots top right, optimize battery usage.
 
that's the weirdest thing i have ever heard off, are you sure its really have anything to do with charging, test those accounts on other device while charging, let us know, what happens!
 
It could also be that you have a power saving mode turned on. These also restrict data to apps and will be turned off when you charge your phone.

No problem. It should be possible to customize the power saving mode so that it allows apps to use data. You won't save as much battery but you should still have the benefit of the other tweaks to the settings.

i didn't even thought about that, yes this sounds logical, there should be a power management things doing all that, on his phone
 
Hello!! Just got a new Huawei P30 Pro (live in Spain) and am not getting alerts on my Yahoo Mail app when I receive a Yahoo email. I have been to a lot of forums and have tried everything, including the suggestions in the above comments. My phone (Android 9/EMUI 9.1.0) is in Performance Mode and not in Power/Ultra Power Saving Mode. In 'Battery Optimization', Yahoo Mail is set to 'Not Allowed'. All notifications are ON in both the Android apps settings for Yahoo Mail and inside the Yahoo Mail app itself. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I have 'Restarted' the phone itself numerable times. I have force stopped the app and cleared cache inside the app. When I started setting up the phone, I did not restore from a previous device. It was a fresh, clean 'install'. Both Android and EMUI are up to date. All apps from Google Play are up to date. I don't know what else to do. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you.
