OnStar app for EVO 4G?

I've seen articles about OnStar support for Android coming, but it seems like it's only targeted to the Motorola Droid (at least the demo): OnStar Mobile Experience - Smartphone Application for Connectivity and Control of Your Vehicle

Anyone hear if it will be supported on the EVO as well, and when that might be?

The articles I've read about it doesn'tmention the EVO but they also seem to imply we'd have to have a newer Onstar? Pehaps the Onstar we have in our cars now will not work with the new system?

Or I could be totally wrong.

Hard to say. I saw on GM-Volt.com that OnStar is relaunched, but when I log into my OnStar account, I don't see any difference from a week ago. I have a 2011 GMC Acadia, and was just wondering what, if any, new OnStar features it might have.

It would be cool to monitor the car from my EVO. I know I really liked the diagnostic emails when my daughters (who have Saturn Vues) were hundreds of miles away at college.

Btw, I renewed my OnStar at a $149/14 months (Safe & Sound), which is a special promotion they have (found out about it on a deals site). You have to ask for it. The first level rep probably won't give it to you, but if you press them a bit, they will transfer you to someone who can. It also comes with free 100 minutes.
