Apps Open and edit an apk in eclipse

I have an app on my phone that I am wanting to make some minor cosmetic changes to for personal and non-distributive use. No matter what I try, I cannot get it to work in the Android emulator. Can anyone please help me open an apk in eclipse so that I can make my changes and run it in the emulator?

I've not tried it myself, but a quick google search found this utility:

Edit Your APK Files Using Apk Manager 4.4 | xda-developers

It's not specifically for Eclipse though.
