Google launches the Android-based Open Automotive Alliance with Audi, Honda, GM, and more | The Verge


I figured I'd post this here. I, for one, am excited. While my VW and my fiance's Dodge entertainment consoles work really well...


Kia and Hyundai and others need help I'd like to see more interaction between my phone and car, personally.

Can't get excited about anything new with cars as I know I'm not going to see it any time soon as I don't change cars that often and my new car is always at least 2 years old

Would definitely be good if my phone did integrate better with the car, though. I have BT in the car (I believe a $300+ option when new - for what's effectively a $5 dongle) but it only does calls To get it to also play music was apparently a $2K option

Do you have an aux in? You can get a BT adapter for it for less than $50.
