Ok, so i downloaded and LOVE open home on the Droid. I had panda home on the mytouch and thought that was great, but i have found out you get what you pay for.

There is one Panda Home feature i really miss though and was wondering if I am just not finding it in Open Home. In Panda Home you could use any icon you had on your phone for any app you wanted in any theme. I really like the stock android 2.0 icons, i haven't found any on any of the themes i like better. But i really like the Open home theme and the gChrome theme. Problem is i really don't care for any of their Icons. I feel like they stand out too much from the icons on apps from the market.

So my question is is there any way to use the Android 2.0 icons on other Open Home themes.

Is this app actually working well for you on the Droid? The reviews in the Market are kind of scary... Are you using the full version or the light version?

Thanks.

I'm using the full version, paid $3.99 for it. Sometimes it force closes, but opens right back up so no biggie. Uses maybe 2-4% of my battery on a given charge per the battery manager. Absolute MUST HAVE APP IMO. It lets you have up to 7 home screens much like the Sense UI, as well as other menu features like edit menu fonts, icons, etc.

TONS of skins available for it, some free some for a cost.

To The OP: You can use alternative icons on open home... not sure about the stock HOME ones though, but you can download new icons without a skin/theme.

From your home screen, press MENU softkey from the bottom, select MORE, and select ICONS, from there you can download new ones. (MORE is also where you would change your skin to a newly downloaded one, FYI)

Yeah its working awesome. Like the post above me, a few forced closes when you click home, but it still opens anyway, so no big deal. I knew you could download icon packs but there was no Android 2.0 Icon Pack. I noticed the developer Better Android had an android 2.0 theme and icon packs from many of his themes. So I emailed him, explained my desire for a android 2.0 icon pack, and he emailed me back (very promptly) saying no problem, he would release an android 2.0 icon pack! shout out to Better Android for awesome customer service!

^^ +1

I already emailed a dev about an application I had issues with, and I had a response within 30 minutes. Pretty amazing.

(It was with a skin, and it had resolved itself by the time he emailed me)

So if you have a problem with an app, definitely try to email the developer, you can do so by going back to the app in the market, and selecting EMAIL DEVELOPER.
