Open source chat client recommendations?

I am planning to integrate a chat client in my app PhraseMates, a social networking app for language enthusiasts. The short list is Chat SDK/Firebase, Sendbird, Applozic, Pusher.

Does anybody have experience with these, pros/cons, etc?

Are there others I should be looking at?
