Open ZIP?

As the name implies, I'm not too bright, so. please bear with me. I just reset my phone and after the restore, I can't open Drive. Get message " your version no longer supported, please upgrade to a newer version." Don't know how to do that.
Also, several things I expected to backup seemingly didn't. However, I did get a rather large ZIP file containing ??. Don't know how to open. Could this be the stuff I'm missing? How do I get to whatever is in there? Please advance my education!

Just go to the Google Play Store on your device, look for and install the Google Drive app, that will be the newer version.

Zip files can usually be opened using the file manager app on your Android phone or tablet, or a computer. What's it might contain, maybe the files you backed-up?

Thanks Mike got zip open but no better off. Got a bunch of small files that my browser can't find a file to open them, so I still don't know what I've got! Files have names like "unigram-contacts.txt, apps.txt, contacts.txt." . There's about 12 or 15 different ones. Help!
