Ok, I know these are opinions, but I'm asking to see what people think. I got the Rezound on an extra line in January. I do love it for the most part, other than needing to use extended batteries. I'm up for an upgrade now, and my contact expires next month. With the knowledge that more than likely I won't be able to keep my unlimited data if I don't upgrade in the next few months, I have a few options.

1. I leave it alone, knowing when my rezound dies and warranties won't pay for it, or I want to upgrade, I'm tiered or pay full retail.

2. I upgrade before the deadline, even though my rezound is fine for now, so I have 2 more years not to worry about it, and I suppose I could save up money for my future full priced phone so I can hopefully keep my unlimited.

3. I upgrade but then re-activate my rezound and bet my whole hand that by the time I finally need the new phone, I won't need a warranty and it won't be grossly outdated and basically unusable.

4. I renew my contract but not upgrade, hoping my rezound makes it two years , plus the 5 months I've already had it, and keep my unlimited that way.

What would you do? What am I missing? If I'm a dumb@$$ and I have no clue what I'm talking about, say so!

1. Valid option, does the Rezound not work for you currently. If you buy a phone using the upgrade you will be tied to paying for that contract for another 2 years and if the Rezound does die you will be going to a phone that is dated.

2. Another valid option. How much do you pay for the ghost line, find out how much you will be paying total over the life of the contract, add the cost to upgrade and see if that will be beneficial to you compared to cancelling a contract and paying for a new phone at full price later. Also is there a phone out now you are looking to get. Without knowing when the deadline will be we don't know if there will be another phone released between now and then. If you are wanting to use one of the current line up phones then upgrading now wouldn't make sense.

3. I see this as the same option as #2 really.

4. If a new phone is released in the next few months that you want before the deadline upgrade and sell the Rezound?

I would stick with my phone I don't mind it and don't want anything else in the current line up. If something better comes out I would be tempted to upgrade. I would suggest making sure you won't end up paying more for getting a contract than just buying a phone later when you need it for full retail.

I do love my Rezound. I would miss having a phone with such a beautiful screen and great 4G reception. My ghost line will cost less in 2 years than a full priced phone off contract. Are you suggesting that I upgrade, and then sell my rezound and make enough from that to cover the cost of the upgrade, and early termination of the ghost line, thus saving me money each month too? Hmmm I think that's pretty darn clever. There isn't anything out there I want more or coming up soon either, poop.

Yeah. I really think that we will know a few weeks in advance before the change goes into effect, we did last year with the switch to no more unlimited.
